MERRITT ISLAND (AP) - Two would-be burglars found a young boy home alone when they broke into a Merritt Island apartment.

Brevard County Sheriff's deputies say the men shrouded the boy's eyes with a towel to keep him from identifying them before fleeing about 5:20 p.m. Thursday. The boy, whose age was not confirmed, was not injured and police say "there wasn't anything obvious taken from the home."

Sheriff's spokesman Jeff Ludwig says the boy's parents called 911 and authorities began looking for the suspects using a helicopter, police dogs and deputies to form a perimeter.

They questioned one man, who deputies consider "a person of interest." Ludwig said early Friday that the man is not under arrest.

The investigation is continuing.
