Is there anyone who does not welcome spring?
With one of Southwest Florida's coldest and longest winters now behind us, and the summer heat still weeks away, we're entering the best of times - warm, balmy breezes; a re-greening of frost-bitten browns; sweet tea and late afternoon twilight; sizzling steak barbecues and dips in the pool; cold beer, a fishing pole and the excitement of that flash of silver in the Caloosahatchee or Gulf of Mexico.
It may have been a long and hard winter but with spring comes hope, hope for better times ahead.
Easter, the most holy of Christian holidays, is Sunday. The faithful worldwide will gather and celebrate that message of hope, and of rebirth, and of a promise that resonates as clearly today as it did more than 2,000 years ago.
May you and yours have a happy holiday and a spring that heralds good things to come.
