Cape Coral Library Art Gallery

Honoring Latino/Hispanic Month, our gallery will feature an exhibit of art works from many of our finest Latino artists from Southwest Florida. The exhibit will run from through Oct. 30.

Harbour View Gallery

Harbour View Gallery welcomes Phil Hilton, watercolor painting and Beverly Fox, jewelry artist, as the October 2009 featured visiting artists.

An opening exhibition wine and cheese reception will be held at the gallery located at 5789 Cape Harbour Drive, Unit 104 at Cape Harbour in Cape Coral on Tuesday, Oct. 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is open to the general public. Artwork will be on display for the month of October.

The gallery is open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Cape Coral Arts Studio

Cape Coral Arts Studio Call to Artists for the 17th annual "Aquarium:" exhibit. This exhibit depicts life beneath the waves whether real or imaginary, realistic or abstract. Special lighting and sound effects make this exhibit special.

Fort Myers

Hispanic Heritage Month in Commissioner Hall's office

Lee County Commissioner Tammy Hall is supporting local artists by giving them an opportunity to display their artwork in her Fort Myers office.

This month we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with The Latino Artists Association. Four local Hispanic artists will display various acrylic and oil paintings in Commissioner Hall's downtown Fort Myers office until Oct. 22.

The public is welcome to view the artwork and learn more about

Other local artists will be featured every four to six weeks. Commissioner Hall's office is on the first floor of the Old County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street in downtown Fort Myers.

'A Clockwork Orange'

Anthony Burgess's "A Clockwork Orange", directed by Annette Trossbach, is playing at Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, 2301 First St., Fort Myers River District from Sept. 9 through 26. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online at: www.sbdac.com or call 333-1933

Class Schedule:

Fine Art Acrylics with instructor Lucie Macherowski is Mondays from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $115 for members and $135 all others.

Sandsongs / music to fiber art with instructor Roseline Young is Wednesdays from moon to 2:30 p.m. The cost is $75 for members and $90 for all others.

The Alliance for the Arts has teamed up with WGCU Public Media to hold an exclusive sneak peek of the fifth season of Art:21 - Art in the Twenty-First Century.

The one-hour premiere will be held at the Alliance for the Arts Foulds Theater on Friday, Sept. 25, at 7 p.m., followed by a reception in the main gallery. Admission to the event is free, but reservations are required.
