Cape Coral Daily Breeze

Abiding Love Church

A two-day Vacation Bible School to be held at Abiding Love Lutheran Church, 3205 S. Chiquita Blvd., Saturday Aug. 1, and Sunday Aug. 2. For ages 3-11 years old

Saturday: Registration starts at 9:30 a.m., the program begins at 10 and children can be picked up at 1:30 p.m. Children can "Dive In" to God's saving word with our ocean themed skits, crafts, bible lessons, story telling and fun! Lunch is included. It is free of charge.

On Sunday the children and their family return at 9:30 a.m. where they will practice their closing program for the 10:30 service. There will be a picnic lunch afterwards with a family fun day to follow, including snowcones, popcorn and lots of fun! All free of charge.

Call 945-2122 for more information and advance registration by Thursday, July 30. You may register the day of the program, as space allows.

Cape Christian Fellowship

This week Pastor Wes Furlong continues the series, "An Unstoppable Force" with the message, "Harnessing E-Motion." How are emotions guiding decisions? This weekend learn how. Attend one of three contemporary worship gatherings available for convenience. Saturday 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9 or 11 a.m. There are classes for children and youth and a nursery provided during all worship gatherings.

The EDGE High School gathering is held on Wednesday's 7-8:30 p.m.

Christ Lutheran Church

Christ Lutheran Church at 2911 Del Prado Blvd., is having an Old Fashioned Hymn Sing and Ice Cream Social Sunday, July 19, at 3 p.m.

The admission is canned goods or money to support the Cape Coral Caring Center. The season here has ended but the hunger goes on and we need to help them service the needy.

DayBreak Fellowship

Back to School Sunday. Families with school-aged children are invited to a contemporary worship service on Sunday, Aug. 2, with free backpacks and school supplies being handed out to the first 100 children attending. Evangelical Presbyterian Church

Summer study "Becoming a Woman of Prayer" by Cynthia Heald continues July 21 from 9-11 a.m. or 7-9 p.m. on "Becoming a Woman of Prayer"

Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral is beginning the summer women's Bible study in Cape Coral and Fort Myers communities. Women of the Word is a program that brings women of the Lee County area together to support one another in their faith.

The study is continued with the book from the old Testament in the fall. It meets Tuesday mornings from 9-11 a.m. or 7-9 p.m.

First Baptist Church

First Baptist Church of Cape Coral is offering several community outreach meetings each week. All meetings are open to the public and are held on the First Baptist Church campus at 4117 Coronado Parkway, Cape Coral. Included weekly are the following:

Kehilat Aish Kodesh

Kehilat Aish Kodesh, Cape Coral's newest, and only, Interfaith synagogue has announced its Vacation Torah School for children ages 6-12, to be held Aug. 10-14 at the synagogue location, 1490 NE Pine Island Road, Cape Coral.

The VTS program will include learning opportunities in Hebrew language, history, culture and geography of Israel, from both Bible times and modern times, songs, music, art, and learning how to conduct various prayers in the home and at synagogue, as well as understanding the Biblical festivals and how those festivals are lived out today by Jews and by Christians, as well as how some of them have been decreased in observance in modern days.

Special attention will be paid to explaining how Torah is till in effect in lives of people who believe in the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, whether Jew or Christian.

Kehilat Aish Kodesh is affiliated with Ysharim International, a modern movement based in Israel that supports dialogue between Jews and Christians regarding the issues frequently found in interfaith marriages and families, and specializes in methods to resolve them.

The VTS staff consists of Rabbis Steven Berkowitz and Michael Schiffman, and their wives Elishev Berkowitz and Michelle Schiffman, both Rebbetzins, respectively.

New Song Ministries

New Song Ministries, based in Cape Coral, at 1490 NE Pine Island Road, 7D.

New Song Ministries is led by Mitch Fincel, area guitar instructor, who is also a key part of the local faith band BloodWashed.

Services will be held on Saturday evenings, 6:30 p.m. and Sunday mornings (10:30 a.m.) and will focus on the contemporary Christian music genre as the vehicle of worship and expression with minimal homiletic oratory on Saturday evening and none on Sunday morning.

Turning Point Church

The Turning Point Church, meeting at the Wm. "Bill" Austen Youth Center located at 315 S.W. 2nd Ave., in Cape Coral. The Youth Center is near the Bowling Alley and cape Coral Charter School off of Santa Barbara Boulevard. The services are held at 10 a.m. each Sunday. Praise and Worship begins at 10:15 a.m. and is led by Tiffany West. Children's Church is scheduled at 10:40 a.m. and led by Jodie Wheatley in the Children's Church Room. Come Expecting! You Will Receive! A Tent Revival to be held Monday, July 20, through Saturday, July 25. It begins at 6 p.m. ends by 10:30 p.m.
