ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Central Florida residents needing to resolve their non-violent misdemeanor or traffic warrants can avoid going to the traditional jail booking process.
The Safe Surrender Program allows for citizens to appear before an Orange County judge without the inconvenience of going to the downtown courthouse or other measures.
The event will take place Thursday at the Orange County Sheriff's Office Central Operations in Orlando. Prosecutors and public defenders will be at the event.
A sheriff's office statement says this is an opportunity that will take place during the month of October.
