Lego project depicts downtown Tampa's buildings

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Downtown Tampa's best-known structures have been replicated in an elaborate Lego display.

The Greater Florida Lego Users Group project features City Hall and many other buildings. The Legos also depict the boats moored behind the Tampa Convention Center, buildings with rooftop gardens, satellite dishes, helipads and wind socks.

Thomas Greaney admired the display in the lobby of a building. He told the Tampa Tribune (http://bit.ly/18v8t4G ) that those who created the display out of Legos "obviously had a good fell for the downtown to be able to replicate it as well as they did."

The group says on its website that the Downtown Tampa Display has been an ongoing project since 2005. It will be on display through Sept. 27.
