Police: Man fatally shot while driving 2 teens home

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a man driving home from work with his two teenage children was fatally shot, causing the car to crash into a utility pole.

The Miami Herald reports ( ) 38-year-old Ollie Mingo was shot Wednesday night while driving through Hallandale Beach. His 17-year-old daughter and 14-year-old son were not injured. One teenager was sitting in the front seat of the Chevy sedan at the time of the shooting.

Hallandale Beach Department Police Chief Flournoy says the man, who was still in his work clothes, had no connection to the community.

Authorities say the shooter is believed to have been on foot.
