Everyone should watch last evening council meeting. Mayor Coviello showed his true colors. Even prior to the vote in which CM Stokes CAVED, Coviello basically admitted that he had already cleared his calendar for this trip at the end of the month. CM Gunther's responses were "spot on". Looking forward to what else CM Gunther unearths. Kudos to CW Cosden & CW Nelsen for not allowing Coviello to intimidate them. Unfortunately, CM Stokes didn't have the backbone.

I also closely watched the council meeting. I agree wholeheartedly with the comment as made by Lawmajor. Councilman Gunter really did his homework. It was not at all appreciated when our Mayor went at Councilwoman Cosden. The Mayor also thought that Councilwoman Nelsen was going to side with him. Shame on Councilman Stokes. This entire subject makes me sick! It is my opinion that our Mayor has a temper when he does not get his way!

Fortherecord - Couldn't agree more that "our Mayor has a temper when he does not get his way"! He really showed his true colors. Very immature! Really disappointed with CM Stokes.

No big deal, communist community government going to visit a communist community government. They should be right at home together. Impose the rules and bring wrath upon those that disagree, sounds like Cape Coral and the suppliers of the Ho Chi Ming trail originators during Vietnam will get along well. All Cape Coral Veterans are disgusted by this treasonous behavior.

A very sad and troubling performance by the Cape Coral Mayor and the three Council members who backed him. He used intimidation by showing his temper when factual concerns and questions were raised by Council members. He called the Council members concerns disingenuous. His actions were the disingenuous actions by not having the China vote on the agenda in advance so the General Public would be aware of the potential vote.He knew full well in advance that he was going to have a Council member call for a vote and be seconded by his actions of inviting his Eco Lab friends to show up in force and support his trip. Transparency??? I think not!!! How can he have a vote on a May 6th agenda item that was voted down during the May 6th meeting. Concerns were identified with adding a second city without advance notification, the size of the group (5) and the Mayors assistant going along too at the taxpayers expense. Why weren't this issues addressed?????

Anyone watch NBC news regarding the interview with Eco Labs? Strange connection to say the least. Also, who in the heck is this new employee that our City Manager decided to hire. It is of my opinion that something is up with that one! Concerning mistake with China connections.
