Julie, I suppose one can search the internet and find a definition to suit one's argument regardless of what said argument is. However, I cannot recall anyone throughout history who used the word zionist in a warm, respectful, affectionate manner. It is you who are hiding behind semantics.
CCC, not sure where you found your on-line "dictionEry" but my Merriam Webster desk dictionAry says a Zionist is "a member of an international movement for the reestablishment of a Jewish national or religious community in Palestine and later for the support of modern Israel." Nothing whatsoever about racism or anti-Semitism. Most of my Jewish friends cringe at the very thought of "Zionism," mostly because of its blatant mix of politics and religion as well as the implications and possible consequences of such a mix. Thought you should know.
On-line Dictionery-----“Zionist: A substitue word for 'jew' used by anti-semites who, for whatever reason, wish to hide their racist intent. Today, the word is mostly used as a politically correct substitute for "kike."” As for the families of those killed in Vietnam or other wars, why don’t you invite them to a closed cage MMA fight and let them show you what they think of your ‘ideas’.
And, might I add, have you a smidgen of wondering if things ain't just quite right, read "The New Pearl Harbor" by David Ray Griffin. Guaranteed to keep you up at night, and in line with this letter.
