Mr. Kalfus writes always this kind of article. It sounds to me like some “witch hunter ”from mid evil time came back from the graveyards? Or is it some mental sick******that is spilling his brain ***** into public? I don’t know and I don’t know how old this person is but to me it sounds like he is “too old”? I hope and I will not believe that ANY democratic thinking person (whatever party member) pays any kind of attention to this fanatic written grease that comes out of his religious? grease gun? Sometimes you would think to sad that we have such unregulated freedom of speech? You just open your newspaper to get some news and information and then accidentally you read this kind of “trash”. If this Dick K. would represent only 1-10% of public opinion, I would suggest it is time for major changes here. I hope and expect that he is just one miserable person that tries to force his fanatic guidelines over other people free spirit and freedom. We shall not be quiet and we will not let

Well, shucks. Came to this thread to see if there was more detail on the demise of the missus and the rise of the mistress and the post is gone, baby, gone.

If you were a true Christina, Dick, you'd know that God can't be removed from a physical space. Evidently, you've forced Him from your heart.

Disgusted1, nothing but the finest for his majesty. I would probably do better than cookies. I would probably bring some fresh Colorado brownies... Only the finest for a man who appreciates working people so much.

If Dick Kalfus would have his way this country would become a Christian theocracy. He needs to read the US Constitution and understand it.

Dick, are we talking just your God? Or other taxpayers Gods they believe in? Which god are we talking ? I personally would like to see Mayor John Lead us in a Rastafarian prayer every week. I will bring some cookies for him.

Kalfus once again shows his true self as a hypocritical heretic who should read the bible with his eyes open this time. Why does he feel the need to judge others when his own house is in need of some salvation. Thank whoever you pray to that our leaders see both parties as extreme radicals and dismisses both as they council has stated. Dick knows that his only ear on council is mumbles and he only has 9 months until full retirement. The only difference between Kalfus and the Taliban is Dick can't make a bomb!

Sandy, two questions. Did you actually read my comment? And, do you have a dictionary? Look up "sarcasm." Sigh.

1Sandy you stated you were moving away and intimated you would not be heard from again. Well I am here to tell you welcome back. We missed you and as in most cases I still do not agree with you on this and most other interpretations by you. Religion has established mankind with a moral code to live by like it or not. Happy 2013!!!!

6.The most ridiculous concept ever perpetrated by H.Sapiens is that the Lord God of Creation, Shaper and Ruler of the Universes, wants the sacharrine adoration of his creations, that he can be persuaded by their prayers, and becomes petulant if he does not recieve this flattery. Yet this ridiculous notion, without one real shred of evidence to bolster it, has gone on to found one of the oldest, largest and least productive industries in history. [Robert Heinlein]

Irving Kristol stated “it is crucial to the lives of all our citizens, as it is to all human beings at all times, that they encounter a world that possesses a transcendental meaning, a world in which the human experience makes sense. Nothing is more dehumanizing, more certain to generate a crisis, than to experience one’s life as a meaningless event in a meaningless world.”

Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money. (George Carlin)

The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse: You cannot post “Thou shalt not steal,” “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” and “Thou shalt not lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges, and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment. (George Carlin)

Actually, I find myself in agreement with Kalfus the Magnificent. I really, truly believe there should be prayer, a long, sincere prayer throwing ourselves on God's mercy and begging for His help. Why, you ask? For the simple reason that, given the morons who are running this place, we need all the prayer we can get. So, pray away, Brother Kalfus. This poor, sad city needs it.
