New Residents Club of Cape Coral
June 27, 2014 - Cape Coral New Resident's Club
Dear New Residents Club,
Before I moved to Cape Coral last spring, 2013 – I lived for nearly 34 years in Kansas. Steve and I finally “followed the yellow brick road”, and retired here in PARADISE. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect to make lifelong friends in such a short amount of time! The NRC has broadened our horizons by teaching us local history, facts about our indigenous four legged and winged neighbors, how to prepare for and hopefully survive weather disasters, etc. And that’s just the educational aspect of this club! We have danced more, eaten more and laughed until our jaws hurt! Boat rides, ball games, cultural events and tons of live music venues are just a few of the things we have experienced in 12 short months! “Toto, we’re NOT in Kansas anymore”! This club will offer you choices to fill nearly every day of the week – but you will get out of it what you put in to it! For those of us that hold positions on Board 94, that means several hours of volunteering to keep the club strong and growing. Please consider applying for one of the Board positions when nominations begin in September. This will offer you the opportunity to meet even more people from several different groups. Until then, sign up for an activity; go to the Dinner Dances; bowl, play golf, bridge, bunco or bocce ball; enjoy Cocktails on the Cape; attend the Ladies Luncheons or Men’s Breakfasts; take a boat ride…your choices are endless! Remember, this is your club. Jump in and have a ball!
