HOA Board Members Education

The Florida legislature recently added a statute that requires newly elected board members of homeowners associations to either provide a written certification that they have read a number of documents about their association or that they attend an educational program about serving on the board.
Some people think that it's about time that the state is taking measures to help HOA board members understand their own documents and Florida law. Others say that the state has no business making board members read documents or attend classes.
