Merry Christmas to you all and Happy Holidays.
Next time you're on the golf course you may get some help from Santa; the acronym anyway.
S A N T A
S is for Stance. Make sure your posture, ball position, weight distribution and grip are all proper. A is for Alignment. 90% of golfers have a poor aim. Lay an extra club down on the groud parallel to the target like a train track to help you aim N is for Not Too Much Thought. When you stand over the ball don't think of 100 things, you'll freeze up. Have one swing thought and go with it. T is for Tempo. Slower is always better. Most golfers swing way too fast and hard. Swing with a slow tempo and you'll hit the ball farther A is for Angles. Keep your original spine angle as you swing, don't raise up. Keep the angle your knees have, don't straighten your legs.
It's not too late to visit your favorite pro a purchase a gift certificate for a golf lesson. It's a great gift and one that the golfer in your family will surely love and use.
